When Anxiety no longer
feels tolerable
Anxiety is a common experience — anything new or uncertain can cause it. But maybe yours no longer feels normal. Your response doesn't match what is going on, your mood is affected, daily life is disrupted, and you can't find the fix. If you're here, your anxiety no longer feels tolerable and you are open to change.
Anxiety and its many disguises.
It shows up as a short temper. Can't fall asleep. Obsessing over the small things. Panic out of nowhere. Your body feels off. Trouble expressing yourself. Memories that won't stop. Avoiding text messages from people you love. You're neglecting yourself and any healthy routine. They all have one thing in common. Each is driven by an anxious response.
Understanding Anxiety
A Thought-driven response
Anxiety is an emotional response to a thought. Even when we swear we're not thinking anything. We feel first, think second, becoming convinced anxiety is the source of our distress. And that's why we get stuck — we're trying to solve the wrong problem. Thought drives the anxious response. Find the thought.
Anxiety and Cognitive Therapy
Cognitive Therapy explores this inseparable relationship between thought and emotion — thought affects what you feel and what you do next. Cognitive Therapy helps to identify and change the impact of thought on anxiety. It redirects from the importance of the emotion and finds the solution in the thought. If you don't think the thought, you won't feel the feeling.
Our Work Together
Cognitive Therapy in Action
I am here to help you know your mind. To teach you to listen to your thoughts. Through the use of Cognitive Techniques, Observational Exercises, and Directed Actions, you will increase this self awareness. When you know your mind, you decide which thought stays and which thought goes. And the anxiety follows. Imagine the power to determine your own emotional response.
